Our philosophy is simple: if Pleofon runs locally on your computer, it should run lightning fast, no matter which operating system you use. That’s exactly why the macOS version relies on native libraries wherever possible. It also meant that porting Pleofon itself to Windows was a bit more challenging. But we did it! Starting today, everyone can download our pioneering software for Windows PCs. The installer and the app may display warnings about an “unknown” or “untrusted publisher.” And… yeah. Code signing on Windows is an expensive and surprisingly convoluted business, so for now, we’d rather save that money and spend it elsewhere. Tl;dr: even the most expensive code-signing certificates don’t completely eliminate these warnings for every user anyway, so we decided it simply wasn’t worth it for now. All in all, enjoy editing!
